A Muse is an ancient Greek being that is foretold to inspire great creativity. With nine Muses in total all being the daughter of the Greek God Zeus, the Muses include Aoede the inspiration of song, Euterpe the inspiration of music, Terpsichore the inspiration of dance, and Thalia the inspiration of comedy.

Rockhampton's first Online Street Press, supported and funded by Art’s Queensland’s A-Venue initiative, Muse is here for you to hear about youth events and entertainment in our region.

The Rockhampton Online Street Press has been appropriately named Muse, due to our strong desire to make this site a source of inspiration and creativity for the youth of Rockhampton and the surrounding regions.

This site has been designed to encourage and engage, to greater inform the community about the activities, facilities and possibilities available and to foster a friendly and connected community.

Muse is a creation of the Rockhampton Regional Council in conjunction with the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland as part of Rockhampton’s A-Venue: Youth Contemporary Music Initiative.

The Rockhampton A-Venue: Youth Contemporary Music Initiative is a State Government funded project through Arts Queensland in conjunction with the Rockhampton Regional Council. The initiative is designed to give young people aged 13 to 30 a chance to establish links in regional Queensland with the professional music industry. It focuses on creating sustainable opportunities for local musicians to develop their performance skills and showcase their talents to industry professionals. It encourages young musicians to create their own music and performance opportunities and broaden their experience and knowledge in the contemporary music industry.
